AN OVERVIEW OF YOUNG LIFE IN THE NORDIC REGION
Who We Are
In the Nordic region, which includes Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland, we are developing ministry by recruiting and training local Christians in each country. Our staff and volunteer leaders meet with over 500 young people in our weekly clubs and small group Bible studies (known in Young Life as “Campaigners”). Our work reaches more than 2,000 teenagers every year in the Region.
Young Life began in Sweden in 1992. Young Life Norway began in 2002, and in Denmark in 2006. All have gone through starts and stops since. In 2017-18 the emphasis across the Region has focused on establishing Young Life with local believers on Committees, raising local support, and recruiting and training Christians within each country to be on staff and as volunteer leaders. In this way, we will “establish” ministry which will last into the future. In Sweden and Norway, we have seen some kids who came to Christ as teenagers go on to become volunteer leaders and in a few cases are now on staff leading local ministries.

Young Life begins in the USA
In a town in Texas, at the request of his pastor, a young associate pastor named Jim Raybrun began showing young people how much God cares about them by showing up in their world and sharing the message of God's love through Jesus in ways and words they could understand and relate to.

KIDS INVOLVED WEEKLY
Since 1941, Young Life leaders have walked with kids and earned the right to be heard in an exhausting and exciting world. In 2018, 348,000 kids were involved every week all around the world.
